It's sweltering here in NJ...MSN says it's currently 99 in Union. "Feels Like" temperature 108!

I ran a couple errands at lunchtime and practically melted getting into the car.

Thankfully I'm in my nice cool office right now! Wish I had a Margarita! Trish

70 degrees in Ann Arbor, MI.

It's been much hotter most of the summer, but this is a most welcome reprieve!

It was 101 about an hour ago according to the local tv station time/temp stamp (and an excessive heat warning too).

Managing? Air conditioning.

Don't worry East Coast, relief is coming. As jlm_mi says, we are at a lovely 70 degrees in Michigan!! After sweltering temps & ridiculous humidity the past couple of days, this weather is WONDERFUL!!!

I guess we shouldn't really complain about our heat though, seeing what's been going on in Phoenix.....THAT is hot.

In Reno...100 again today..had 10 straigth days of 100+ and then some "relief"..about 5 days of 96 -98. I just keep the fans going but am NOT sleeping well. It hasn't really cooled off over night that much. Usually our "saving grace" up here is the fact that the nights cool off nicely because we are at about 4200 feet, but lately that hasn't been so. So, I'm dealing more than managing. Poor Scarlett, having to pack in the heat. You also have the humidity to deal with don't you? 95 is hot for Portland. Just take it slow. How long before you have to be out of your house? I think you guys are getting our heat wave from last week and the week before..it's been moving east. Drink lots of water during the day and after your day is done, sit down and have a REAL drink!!!!

After a huge thunderstorm, its down to about 75 in Buffalo. Yesterday it topped 90 degrees... And people say there's no such thing as global warming

As for how I've been managing - massive A/C bills and keeping the heater off on my pool.

The Weather Channel is reporting 92 for NYC, but I don't believe it...it feels a lot hotter. We don't have central air at home, so at night we only cool the bedroom. When we come out in the morning, the rest of the apartment feels like a furnace. I've been getting to work earlier for the last couple of weeks because of it!

We finally got some relief! www.wunderground.com shows that it's 70 in Ann Arbor now! However, I just returned from lunch, and out in the sun, it feels considerably warmer. I just took my blazer off, and I feel pretty comfy in my tee-shirt, linen pants and woven shoes.

Well, it's 97 in the shade in Westchester, NY, but I think the heat index is something 107 - yikes! My poor flowers

Tomorrow the high is supposed to be 79! \/ Oh, happy day!

Scarlett, you are welcome to make a stop in San Francisco, to cool off before Portland, OR.

After all, SF is not Kal-ifornia! Unique micro-climate, you know

LOL OO. Kal , go to your room.
crefloors, one thing about Florida, everything is well air conditioned! I still have to take a sweater with me when going to stores etc.
We have it going strong in the house so packing isn't too bad, just annoying, I am tired of it and want to go now.
We leave Monday

Take care, FodorFriends and Stay Cool

I saw where it was over 100 degrees in Chicago the other day for the BoSox/WhSox game.

How can it be that hot with all those fans there?

2:20 p.m. temps at RSW (Ft. Myers airport) is 90 with a heat index of 99 and humidity of 59% Hazy out...temps will be this for awhile yet. Our usual afternoon thunderstorms cool things off a bit..but not much and not for long.

Ft. Myers News-Press had an article yesterday about *snowbirds wish they were summerbirds* so they could come to Florida to cool off.

Gosh, those of you in triple digits should just come on down south to the Caribbean where we are only at 90. It's quite warm out, yes...but it's lovely in the shade.

Now, if we could just get rid of this awful African dust. I'm sick of not being able to see out my car windshield, not to mention the horizon being invisible for the past four days.
