Hudson River Valley , NY

I'm going to be at the Culinary Institute and would like to find a really nice place to stay for the weekend. Any suggestions?

Route 9 is home to many chain hotels, but it sounds as if you are looking for something upscale. With that in mind you could look into staying at the Beekman Arms in Rhinebeck.

Without a doubt, The Belvedere Mansion. Check out www.belvedermansion.com. Wonderful food, beautiful views, quiet, serene setting.

deb: You can't go wrong with either, but I lean towards the Beekman Arms; wonderful early american ambience and exceptional dinning. Rhinebeck is a fun little village to wander. While our daughter was at the Institute, we had occaision to stay and dine at both. Dinner at the Institute is exceptional as well. Three dinnng rooms to choose from.

Hurry and book because they are always busy. We stayed at the Beekman Arms quite often and they were always busy in the winter. You will appreciate that fireplace in the lobby!
