you are getting those suggestions pehaps with a budget you have given them. My favorite is the Sheraton Moana want to cut costs then head over the Ilika. You are marina front with the ilika so you still get an ocean view in most rooms and you have about half a block walk to Ocean. I like walking through the marina at night.
Royal Hawaiian is nice but I find that it is too big, dark and empty for my liking. I could see a honey moon coupld reveling in this but I found it too institutional. The beach front spot along with beach front restaurant are nice and worth a stay though.

We stayed at the Waikiki Beach this April. We enjoyd it very much and is easily worth the relatively cheap rates. We had a beachfront room with a lanai perfectly placed for sunsets and simply sitting watching the beach and the activity below. The rooms are not huge but recently renovated in bright hawian print fabrics and ratan furniture. The beds were very comfortable and everything was spotless. There is a small pool but honestly, we spent no time there.
At the time, we got a renovation rate as the shops/restaurants were not open. Trust me, if you can't find shops and restaurants within 20 feet of the entrance, you're blindfolded.
Its directly across the street from the beach with no building between. Can easily recommend this place if you want beach front or view and not pay$400 plus.

The Marriott is a good hotel, they renovated at least one tower and their service is pretty good. however, they do not have as many amenities as the Sheraton. That is strange--the Sheraton is not normally in the same price range as the other hotels you mentioned.
