Hotels in Corpus Christi and South Padre

Sorry for the repost, I meant to post this in the Texas forum only....

What hotels in these cities would you recommend? I prefer a nice hotel with perhaps easy access to other restaurants, shopping, etc.

Which city would you prefer and why?

We are from Austin and just want to spend three nights on the coast to relax and get away from things. So our time would be spent on the beach, eating, relaxing, etc.

Just by way of explanation: the "Texas forum" works when you're searching, but when you post, it goes to the United States board. All postings do.

Can't suggest specific hotels, but I personally prefer South Padre to Corpus. In SP, you can stay right on the beach, in Corpus, which is on the bay, you have to drive out some distance to get to the beaches.

I've never been to South Padre but co-workers, friends, etc. recommend it over Corpus. A friend of ours who lives close by in Harlingen recommends the Raddison which is conveniently located on the beach. I hope this helps

South Padre, definitely. The Radisson is one of the nicer ones and has a good pool/outdoor bar. The beach is a lot better than Corpus.
