Help-advice for South Beach hotels!!!

My girlfriends & I are going in 1 1/2 weeks. Any ideas where we can stay close to the action (Collins, Washington, Ocean Dr) but not pay over $100/night? I have a list, but I heard the pics on the net are decieving.

jen24, my face is red red red! In your other post in which you said you were going to South Beach with the girls, I assumed you were talking about your daughters!! Ah, well, now you know I am just a middle-aged mom...

Anyway, to get you started gathering nfo, just type "south beach and miami" in the text search box. Read through and you'll get plenty of info on hotels. Also, you might want to read the Rants and Raves on www.fodors.com

You'll have a great time in South Beach with your friends!

Whatever you do, do not stay at Franklin hotel---we thought we got a good deal for the night--it was horrible. Definitely read the rants and raves, and post as as many times as you have to here.
For less than $100 however, you are going to have to be a block or two away from the beach.

Jen,
I stayed at the Hotel La Mansion at 5th St. and Ocean Drive last year. It was in a great location and the price is right, about $70 per night.

I'm leaving for South Beach this Thursday and got the Blue Moon on 9th and Collins for $75 a night through Quikbook. You can also find quite a bit of other hotels on there for under $100, but I would recommend checking reviews on tripadvisor.com first before committing anywhere!
