Hotel stay in Kauai

While searching for info on hotels in Kauai, I came across the following post:

As of know I am staying at the Hyatt. I purchased four gold certificates for $250 each which as I understand entitles me to one night with tax included. The certificates are good for up to one year from date of purchase and can be used at most Hyatts around the world. It seemed like a very good deal. If I could find a great deal for the Princeville, I would stay 2 nights at the Hyatt and 2 nights at the Princeville.

I was wondering if thebestpuppeteer or someone else can tell me how/where to get these gold certificates. I tried a search on the Hyatt site, as well as, a general google search and couldn't find anything about them.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Not sure but maybe they are talking about the Gold Passport membership awards.

Go to Hyatt.Com. On the right side of the screen, towards the bottom you'll see "Gifts and Products". Click on "Gift Certificates, Cards and Checks".

Next click on "Stay". I just did it, this link should take you there:
https://www.certificates.hyatt.com/p...CertsStay.aspx

On the left side of your screen pick "Inspire" from the drop-down choice. Then pick the number of nights. If you want to stay for 2 nights then pick two. Your quantity is 1 (...if you wanted 4 nights you would pick 2 nights with a quantity of 2....I hope this is clear).

The charge is $319 plus a shipping charge which was $6 when I ordered 4 stay certificates.

PLEASE NOTE: the $250 price was correct (actually it was $249 when the original post was made). Hyatt has just raised the price by $70 per night). Taxes are included in this price but the $15 per day resort fee is not so one day will cost you $334...still a bargain but not as much as the rate they previously charged.

I stayed using certificates in November, they gave me a nice room, ground level, overlooked the upper section of the pool.

You might want to call the hotel to see if they would accept an Elite level certificate since they did less than 2 months ago.

One more note: you need to check if there are certificate rooms available on the days you want to stay. If the hotel is busy they might not be available then.

Thanks so much for the information. I just called the Hyatt and while I could get the certificates, I could only use them on 2 nights of my 4 night stay. With the regular price of $480 per night + resort fee it's not worth doing.

Thanks so much connecticut_lady and thebestpuppeteer for the info. on these certificates -- it made a great hotel (not in my budget) very affordable -- can't wait to go!!! If you have any other great suggestions I'd love to hear them!!!

methinks: So, you got the certificates for $334, as connecticut_lady predicted - or did you do better than that?

olesouthernbelle: I got the certificate for $250. The price change is in effect for 2008. If you purchase the certificate and book your reservation before 2008, you can still get the $250 rate. It is really a great deal!!!!

If you think it is a great deal now, just wait until you get there and see what a wonderful property it is.
Have fun.
