Hotel in New Orleans?
Looking for well situated, extra clean, lovely hotel in French Quarter for $200 or less, October 7-11. Right now, considering Lafitte Guest House, Monteleone Hotel and Dauphine Orleans. Open to other suggestions as well. Let me know your favorites, thanks annieladd

Monteleone is running a special now, i think $89/night?
Also, consider Hotel Monaco, also running a special--maybe $149/night? (both were internet specials) I eealize the latter is a bit out of Fr Quarter, but is more "central" in terms of accessability to the St Charles St Car and hading west(?) toward uptown, Garden District, etc. and is supposed to be beautiful and luxurious and quiet,.

we have always enjoyed staying at the Wyndham on Canal Street. Near shopping, casino and the rooms have spectacular views of the river. You can look out your window and see Cruise ships headed upstream. Great service, nice large well appointed rooms. And the large pool on the top of the building is a nice place.

I've not stayed at any of the three properties that you list. However, friends have stayed at Dauphine Orleans and enjoy it. Lafitte Guesthouse is on our list of places to stay in the future. My current favorite B&B is La Maison Marigny, a few blocks further out than Lafitte's, but safe and a very nice property.
On my last visit we stayed at Hotel Provincial, it was a 'girls' trip, we needed rooms with two beds. The room was sort of dark, but not unpleasant and the bathroom was larger than many in the quarter.

My vote is for the Monteleone. It has a great location & I love the look of the lobby. Reminds me of a Fred Astaire movie. The Carousel Bar is another neat thing about the hotel. The Monteleone also has a rooftop pool.
Really any of those 3 would be ok. Have a great time!!

we stay at the Avenue Plaza on St. Charles in the Garden district, Trolley access to the Quarter. They have had a nice remodel, and just reopened all floors in January this yr. I beleive the rates at around $140 nite unless you can take advantage of a time share rate via a time share owner as we have.
Good Luck!
