New Orleans Hotels - FQ

2 couples will be in NO Nov 9 thru 11th. Never been there before and of course looking for a hotel not too far from the river and where a tourist can see the sights. Am looking in the $150 range. Can someone help 2 couples of Californians?

I stayed at Hotel Provincial this past March. Pretty nice for the price. Our room was sort of dark, but nicely furnished and a big bathroom. I've stayed in hotels in New Orleans where the bathrooms are miniscule.

My favorite place to stay in New Orleans is La Maison Marigny. Just across Esplanade fromt the Quarter, but an easy walk any where. Only four rooms, great owners. I've also stayed at the Cornstalk Hotel, gets mixed reviews. We had a good time and a nice room, but the bathrooms was tiny.

Another option would be the Prince Conti, close to Bourbon Street, but quiet.

The Ramada Inn on Bourbon is very centrally located in the Quarter and has Bourbon Street balcony rooms which are great for "people watching". Enjoy the city (I would bet 2 days won't be enough and you'll want to come back!)

I have not stayed at this hotel yet but we have reservations the end of November. It sounds wonderful and recommended by Fodors, Frommers and Zagat's. It is Le Richeliew and their website is www.lerichelieuhotel.com
It is in the FQ with free parking and their prices will fall into your catagory for a standard room. 1-800-535-9653
