The best deals to eb ahd are bidding on Priceline ro Hotwire if you're willing to go that route. Look at betterbidding.com and biddingfortravel.com for advice, hotel lists etc.
To pick your own hotel, there's no ONE site that's the best for all hotels, all the time. Many people here like quikbook.com I also like hotels.com, hotres.com and travelzoo.com has been mentioned.
If it's just for a weekend & not during holiday time, many hotels that cater to business people run their own specials on their own website.

Hello. On this website, I learned about biddingfortravel.com, and I've found it to be a great resource for Priceline.
Is anyone aware of a similar website that lists which hotels Hotwire tends to use?
FYI - I second quikbook.com for NYC. I've found rates for November dates which are up to $75 less a night than hotel websites and Expedia or Travelocity. Pretty big savings in my opinion.
Thank you,
Julie
