Hotel Chandler, New York
Hi,
Has anyone stayed at the Hotel Chandler in NY? I am travelling to NYC in Sept and am finding it really difficult to get a room for under 200$ (my ideal max. budget would be 180). I usually stay at the Belvedere but that's booked out. I have got a price of 175+tax for the Chandler but I've never heard of it and I also want to get a room with two beds in it-- not sure if the website is quoting me a price for a room with just one bed.
Any suggestions/feedback would be gratefully received.
Thanks

The hotel gets somewhat mixed reviews - and everyone mentions how small the rooms are. The only photos show room with one bed - so I would double check if your want two - as you know many NYC hotels don;t offer this option.
The neighborhood (32nd nr Fifth) is perfectly safe - but very quiet and even a little dreary at night.

Hi,
Thanks for the responses. I've checked out the reviews on Tripadvisor and a few references to people sharing their rooms with cockroaches has put me right off the place.
Any other suggestions, based on my budget and need for 2 beds?
Thanks

Check out the Hotel Stanford and the Herald Square. Neither is very glamorous but both are "ok." The Comfort Inn Midtown is another option. Have you checked the Radio City Apartments? The smallest studio there I think has a double bed and a pull out sofa.

Thanks McLaurie. I've checked Radio city apts and they don't have anything in my price range with two beds for my dates. The comfort inn is way over 200USD for a room with two beds.
i've looked at the Stanford and it seems quite nice-- was thinking of the deleuxe suite which is 199 per night... I've posted up another post asking people to advise which is better: Travel Inn (I have a provisional booking there but I am lukewarm about the place) or Stanford....
Thanks
