Hoping for the best, planning for the worst

HI all,
We're supposed to leave for the Outer Banks in two weeks and hopefully all will be well BUT we also want a back up plan if necessary. We're looking for any and all suggestions for comparable beach atmosphere preferably in the Southeast or Fla. Any suggestions?

Odds are you will be just fine...

www.orangebeach.com www.villagetanin.com cute little

cheap town on the Gulf with deals on vrbo.com like

"Obsession" cute little carriage house great vibe

$100 per nite or so. www.zekeslanding.com great

dining fishing in the Perdido Pass area very white sand,

www.seasidefl.com also nice nearby Seagrove beach

will cost more... might head to the Gulf side

Sanibel/Captiva also super nice for me particuarly

Captiva... great shelling...

Lastly Longboat Key close to city still very pretty

Happy Hunting

You'll be fine. You might want to look at cancellation insurance.

You've still got 2 days til hurricane hits or misses North Carolina ..... once it's past then you'll know if a Plan B will be needed.

And don't forget, another tropical depression is probably brewing off the coast of Africa ..... two weeks from now, we could be talking about Joshua or Kristine or whatever designated names they've selected for this season.

You'll be fine IF:

your rental is still there and undamaged by the storm that almost undoubtedly now is GOING to make landfall ON the OBX

there isn't a whole lot of overall damage AND Dare/Currituck/Hyde counties are letting visitors BACK IN

I know because I have a reservation for a house in Salvo beginning on 9/11

To answer your question..Hilton Head comes to mind and there are rentals available

Thanks everybody. Just heard our little cottage is just fine! Might not be travelling to Hatteras Island but if that's the biggest issue we deal with, no complaints here.

"You might want to look at cancellation insurance"

This would be like a "pre-existing condition" with respect to medical insurance!
