Holiday Inn Priority Club Members?

Hi
Hubby has a lot of Holiday Inn Priority Club Points. Where to go this summer?
Can you recommend any neat places not too far from Virginia (where we live) where we could use points? (within a 9 hour drive). Any extra special places that AREN'T beaches? Know about lots of great beach places already, thanks. Lake vacations are a consideration, also mountains.
Not interested in theme parks or crowds. Also have 2 teens.
Thanks!

Well, NYC comes to mind. A real treat would be the Barclay there - or an Intercontinental hotel anywhere.

Indigo is their new boutique brand. Only Atlanta, Houston and Chicago have one so far.

What about the NC mtns? I enjoyed my stay at the HIX in Boone, NC. Nice, moderate hotel but LOTS to do in the area.

Hmmmm......may look into Boone.
Not a city person, the NC mountains might fit the bill. What kind of things to do there? Thanks

Boone Is Named One of Four North American Adventure Destinations

In 2005, Boone was recognized by travel journalists as the ultimate outdoor adventure destination in the Southeast, even in North America.

The area around Boone, Banner Elk and Valle Crucis is just gorgeous - and lots of outdoor activities.

I did their winter sleigh ride. They have horseback riding too.

LOTS of restaurant options in Boone, but consider having dinner at the Mast Farm Inn as well (fine dining).

Also, check to see what may be going on during the summer at Sugar or Beech ski resorts.
