Best route between Portland Airport and Jantzen Beach?
Hi,
People more knowledgeable about Portland than I am have been very helpful in a previous thread, and now I'd like to ask everybody:
What's the easiest and most comofortable route between Portland Airport and Jantzen Beach, and vice versa?
I'll be arriving well after dark on a Thursday, and I do not know the area. I would rather go a few extra miles out of my way to avoid getting lost than take an insider's shortcut and end up in an isolated, poorly marked area.
Likewise, I will be traveling back to the airport for a 7:45am flight on Monday morning, which means I'll be leaving at dawn or even before. I don't expect to encounter traffic.
What's the easiest route out of the airport (i'm renting from Hertz) and most no-brainer, safest approach to Jantzan Beach?
Thanks!

There are two easy routes. The first...from the airport get on I-205 north and take HWY 14 westbound. Then onto I-5 south. The hotel will be on your left. The other route is a bit more miles, but consists of freeways, not the highway, so might be easier for you if you are nervous. Take I-205 south from the airport and get off at I-84 westbound. Take that towards Portland and then get onto I-5 northbound. The hotel will be on your right. The interstates are all well marked here, so it should be a piece of cake

Thanks, mms. Precisely the info I was looking for. I was looking at the road that runs right along the river, but well-marked freeways are more my style after a six hour plane flight in the dark.
