Help with Napa hotels
Hello - I am beginning to plan a weekend (3 days/2 nights) in Napa Valley for the end of March. This is a pre-bachelorette weekend for 4 women. We know we want dinner one night at French Laundry. We would like to get in some spa time and 3-4 wineries each day and some kind of nightlife. I need help finding the right hotel. The Carneros Inn looks perfect but I was told it's "too far away from everything" another I liked was 1801 First but I read there's no nightlife in downtown Napa. Silverado looks a little bit too big. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

It's true - there really is no "night life" in Napa. Try the Napa River Inn, Marriott, Beazley House (B&B). There are several places in Yountville also. There are a lot of spas in Yountville. Take a look at napavalley.com. Have a great time. End of March should be beautiful.

The French Laundry (have you begun trying for one of those nearly-impossible-to-get reservations?) is actually in Yountville, not in Napa. The Vintage Inn in Yountville would be a great place for you to stay, as would the Bellagio, which offers spa services.

Thank you all so much for your advice. I went ahead and made a reservation for the Villagio in Yountville. The concierge takes care of making the reservation for French Laundry. I'm looking forward to my first trip to wine country and a fabulous meal.
