Poetry Inn Napa
My husband and I are planning to stay at the new Poetry Inn in Napa. Does anyone have anything to share regarding this inn? Also, I would like to surprise my husband with a fabulous lunch at a beautiful winery. I don't want to schedule anything for dinner because after a day of wine tasting we will be exhausted. Due to the fact we will be in Napa in February it will need to be a place that we can sit out on a covered terrace or inside. It is a special occasion so no expense will be spared. I know some of the wineries will do special wine/paired meals. Thanks in advance to all of you out there for your help!!

Well, it looks good to me.... http://www.poetryinn.com
I don't know special lunch places in the Napa Valley. Does anyone know if the French Laundry is open for lunch, and, if so, how many months in advance you need to reserve. (partially kidding here, but who knows?)
I didn't realize that wineries serve lunch, but I think the new wine center in Napa does...Copia, I think it is called Julia Child was involved in this when she was alive, so it might be considered special. A google might give more information.

OK. Yes, Copia does serve lunch in "Julia's Kitchen" and the sample menue is quite impressive. The website is http://www.copia.org
It opens with talk about Spain, which confused me at first. I didn't think I had the right website. Browse it, you'll love it.

I was hoping that hart might still be reading. Her post indicated that her trip was in February.
The French Laundry website indicates that they serve lunch on Friday, Sat., and Sunday--I think you have to do the same 60 days-prior-attempt-to-reserve as for dinner.

Sorry for the untimely response. I forgot that I even posted anything. First of all the Poetry Inn is fabulous. It is a 5 1/2 to 6 star Inn. Very sophisticated. By the way those who might want to rent the whole place out for a special party this is the place to do it. The grounds are gorgeous. The property is the only place in the area. Robert Sinskey winery is to die for. Make sure you make reservatios...but confirm on your own because Christopher although nice is a bit absent minded.

Adding my own confirmation that the Poetry Inn is fabulous. Very, very expensive, but fabulous. Each room has a balcony and a great view. It is elevated on the hill facing the Yountville cross road--so a beautiful view across the Silverado Trail and the valley.
