Help with hotel choice for Cambria in August

It's either the White Water Inn or the Sea Otter Inn. Any opinions?

Can't comment on them, but we stayed earlier this year at the Blue Whale Inn, and it was incredible! I posted a review with photos on www.tripadvisor.com

Hi orangetravelcat,
Last summer we stayed at Moonstone Landing Inn (recommended here) and absolutely loved it. Wished we could have stayed much longer.
Here's my trip report for more details:

My husband and I visit Cambria several times a year. We haven't stayed in either place that you mention, however, they look really nice. I see they are both on Moonstone Beach Drive, which is beautiful. I imagine you've looked on them online. Nevertheless, here are links to each: http://tinyurl.com/rfplk
http://tinyurl.com/obogy .

We usually stay at the Pelican Suites, but have tried several other places as well. I'll be really curious as to which inn you choose and how you like it, as we are always looking for a new, great accommodation.

You might want to look at Travel Advisor, if you haven't already done so.

Cambria has some good restaurants, too. We like the Sea Chest (on Moonstone Drive), Robins and The Sow's Ear (in the village). Moonstone Bar and Grill is a wonderful place to just sit and enjoy the day if the weather is fine. The food is pretty good, but we really go there just to sit and enjoy the sunshine and have a bite to eat.

Well, I've managed to talk a lot, given the fact that I can't answer your question... Sorry!!! Anyway, I love the Cambria area and hope you will, too.

We've decided on the White Water Inn - when I checked their website again today, saw that they're offering a two nite mid-week special, for $299 which includes a gift certificate for $85 at a restaurant on Moonstone Beach, as well as a bottle of wine from a local winery. Since the Sea Otter was $159 a night, the White Water works out to be a better deal. Will let you know how it is - but we're not going until August so it will be a while!

This may sound crazy, but I just made a note on my calendar to check back on how you liked the White Water Inn! (Yikes - that sounds a bit obsessive. It scares even me...) It's just that we've always enjoyed the Pelican Suites, but don't like them as much as we once did. Can't put my finger on why. We go to Cambria more often than we go anywhere else on our little "get aways", so I'm thinking we need a change of venue.

Have a great time!

The White Water Inn was great. The room, although small, was spotless. Plenty of thick towels, nice toiletries, very pleasant staff. A breakfast of hot muffins and bagel was delivered to the room (and there was a seagull who waited on the roof of the place for people to put their breakfast trays outside - then it would swoop down and steal stuff - very entertaining to watch!). Inn staff would clean front and back windshields on all the cars every morning. Great location across from Moonstone Beach and within walking distance of the Moonstone Beach Bar and Grill (dinner there was part of our package - excellent food and view). I would recommend this hotel.

If you go, see if you can get the "Elmer Dill" package which includes an 85 dollar credit at Moonstone Beach Bar and Grill, plus a bottle of sparkling wine in the room.

Thanks for the tip. There is no question as to whether we'll be there, just when! We usually visit Cambria 4 or 5 times a year as a great "part-way-home" stop. I'll look into the "Elmer Dill" package, who/what ever Elmer Dill is!!

Thanks for posting back!

I don't know who Elmer Dill is either, but there's a website, I think its' elmerdill.com, or you can google the name, and look under getaways for some deals.
