OK everyone, the OP never said she was going to beg for honeymoon money in the invitation. Where did you all get this information from? All she asked was "Does anyone know of a travel agent or honeymoon registry service that does not charge a service fee...?".

OK...ENOUGH! The point of this question was to get information for a bridal shower, not to receive unwanted negative opinions from the majority of the responses.
If you know your bridal party is hosting a shower, then I see no reason in registering for what you do not need and want. The givers would prefer to give a gift you will enjoy. Be it a punch bowl or a gondola ride in Venice.

And I have no idea where you all thought I was inserting cards in my wedding invitations to ask for gifts!
As far as the name calling...grow up.
What a wonderful example you are (will be) to your children.
One last word for ms manners...the Knot actually suggests honeymoon registries and gives resources in the Knot's Complete Guide to Weddings in the REAL world.

That being said, please put this issue to rest.

I think that was just a case of people getting off topic - it happens.

People, Amy, justed asked for travel agents who did honeymoon registries. There is no need to discuss your feelings about gifts, registries, invitations and weddings in general. Who cares. Honeymoon Registries are real. If you want to debate the ethics of registries take it to a wedding forum.

Amy, you might want to look in the back of a bridal magazine to see those agents who advertise. And, you might want to post this under the travel agents forum or other instead of United States as it fits more there.

Good luck.

Amy, I just thought of something else. If you have a wedding expo or show coming up go to it. Any agents that are doing registries or working on honeymoons will be exhibiting there.

J Correa: Usually it is people just getting off topic but in this case it was the extremely nasty second post by Miss [Not]Manners that assumed she was putting registery information in the invitations.

If you really do want to have a honeymoon registry...here is one. I know about it because some tacky friends or relatives have used them.

Wow! Miss Manners is a beast! I'd hate to be married to her/him/it.

Too bad that couples don't plan for the marriage they way they plan for their wedding and honeymoon. Maybe then the divorce rate wouldn't be so high.

Ask for money and spend it where and when you want. Much easier that way.

Oh the nasty beast that was Miss [Bad] Manners!

This was a lovely post until Fodors deleted Miss Manners second post informing everyone she was running off to TheKnot.com to tattle!

To the top as a finalist!

UMMM. I know this is an old forum but i signed up just si could respond. It is 2007 not 1957. Girls no longer buy homes with their husbands after they are married. They live together first to make sure they can stand living with them in the first place!!! What woman in 2007 wants a china setting? Thats so tacky and not cool. Any plates will do when serving your loved ones. They won't talk about or remember your stupid ass plates! So why not ask for something you ACTUALLY LIKE? Like a contribution towards your honeymoon? Its actually all over the internet and The Knot!! Its very popular now!! Sorry we are not 500 lbs and don't want a freakin bake all day for people with a brand new baking pan. I'm a mother and I'm getting married in 3 months. I already own a home with my fiance, and do not need more crap to fill it. I also host many nice parties without tacky floral china and 30 dollar towels. I get my own bathroom stuff. Its personal. So sorry MS MANNERS. but you are rude and you are dead wrong about what women want now. Screw Waterford crystal. Its gonna collect dust in my hutch. Why buy something you'll never use. Now let me guess. Your probably old and divorced and stuck in a cluttered home filled with lenox vases. HMMMMM. Must be nice to be all alone. At least you have some pretty china to look at. You have terrible taste for being so rude when someone is just asking a simple question. Its people like you that are a god damn waste of space in this god forsaken world. OH. I'm sorry. WAS I RUDE? AWWWW, POOR BABY.
