Can anyone recommend a good honeymoon registry service with low service fees?

I also thought of this as an option, but on at least every site I researched guests had to pay a 9% fee to the website; I also didn't like the idea of them holding the money until 10 days after the honeymoon. Good luck!

You don't really need to do a formal honeymoon registry service. A lot of travel consultants have informal honeymoon registry services that they operate within their consulting practice at no additional charge.

My clients choose their trip and when wedding guests and others ask about their registry, my consulting firm is listed, along with the department stores, home stores, etc. Guests simply call me directly to apply their chosen amount or service (room upgrades, upgrades to first class on flights)to the honeymoon. Then, I create a special portfolio to the bride and groom to let them know who contributed, what amount, as a memoir and to assist with the thank you notes.

my wedding/honeymoon aren't until next month, so i have not yet received my money, but i've been pretty satisfied with thehoneymoon.com. there is a reasonable fee- equivalent to sales tax or less- and it's easy to set up. the check will be mailed 5 days before our departure and any funds that come in after that date will be sent within 30 days (or sooner, if requested).

Don't you think it's a little weird to ask people to subsidize your honeymoon?

In the end, we used Sendusoff.com and we were very happy with the service, as were our wedding guests. In fact, they all loved it. They had a fixed 7% commission for the service, but it was definitely worth it.

I had not planned on replying to Mah1980 because his reply had no relevancy to my question, and I am not a fan of replies that are just meant to flame others.

But had he or she known us, Mah1980 would know that we are well-established in our careers, each own a home, and had already fully furnished those homes in the past. Now we move to a new country every two years for our work. All of the typical wedding registry items (which we already owned) have been sitting in storage for years collecting dust. The last thing we need is more “stuff.”

Further, our family and friends know that we have had to use all of our expendable income the last few years flying back to my home and to his home for family funerals, including two this year, the year of our marriage and honeymoon. (I would also note that we are from two different countries, and to get to one of them from our current location it costs a minimum of $2000 per ticket.) Our family and friends also know that due to our work we get very little down time together as we are both constantly traveling for work – apart. The most valuable gift my husband and I ever could have received was quality time together with no worries. Our family and friends also know that we met while living in one of the world’s most remote locations, and that travel is what brought us together. As such, they know that our most valuable memories are those that we make together, while traveling together, sharing our lives together overseas, and that those memories will last a lifetime. So if a friend wants to contribute to our honeymoon, we will remember that forever. We certainly wouldn’t have remembered a toaster.

i have been talking to karin at thebigday.com and she has been SUPER helpful!!! and if you book over $3,500 of travel with them, there is no % fee.

check them out - their website has lots of helpful information about destinations and resorts along with some great pictures of the resorts and rooms!

I would recommend travelersjoy.com. They have been great so far, and you have complete control over when you want to receive your check. For a couple not interested in traditional gifts, I think a honeymoon registry is an excellent alternative.
