help! bass lake accommodations
I am looking for a nice place to stay at Bass Lake near Yosimite. We would like to stay in a cabin or rent a house. Does anyone have any recommendations? Has anyone stayed at The Pines Resort, The Fork Resort, or Narrow Gauge Inn? I recently read some very conflicting reviews of the Pines Resort. Some say it is a nice place and others say it is dirty and dated. Any information would be appreciated.

I've never stayed at the Pines, but have always heard good things and I wouldn't hesitate to book there. There is also a restaurant with a hotel nearby called Ducey's that has nice rooms..although I haven't been the recently. When are you going? Thy book fast for the summer months.

We have stayed at the Pines Resort many, many times. We were just there for Valentine's nights. The spa suites are the only way to go here. You will have gorgeous lake views, robes, breakfast delivered to your room, jacuzzi tub and early check-in and late check-out. We like Suite #3 or #5 the best on the lower level.
I think the majority of the complaints I have read on Tripadvisor are concerning the chalets, which may be showing their wear. Ducey's on the Lake is very nice for dinner. There is also the Bar & Grill for casual fare where you will also have gorgeous views of the lake, pool area and Goat Mountain.
We were just in Bass Lake a couple of days ago for business, beautiful little mountain town. Narrow Gauge Inn is in Fish Camp. We like the Tenaya Lodge there, a full-service destination resort with spa, two swimming pools, restaurant and gift shop.
Let me know if you have any further questions on the Pines Resort. ***kim***
