Hale Koa Dining Questions

Is everyone eligible to dine in the restaurants/snack bars at the Hale Koa?

This blurb came off thier web site. Maybe they don't always ask to see an ID card?

The Hale Koa Hotel is located at 2055 Kalia Road in Waikiki. As an Armed Forces Recreation Center, the Hale Koa serves active and retired military, Department of Defense civilians, National Guard and Reserve members, family members and sponsored guests.

So, do you interpret that to mean that just anyone can't dine in their facilities?

I'm pretty sure you need military ID to purchase anything at the Hale koa. Only time I've seen an exception is when my neice had a pool bracelet on and they sold her food at the snack bar without asking.

Having been to the Hale Koa numerous times, I can say that you definitely need a guest ID to use any one of their restaurants, except for two instances. You can go into the Sunday Brunch by making reservations beforehand, and secondly, if you are on the beach and choose to use their"Barefoot Bar" or the snack shack, which is similar, but better than a Mc Donalds, you can enter from the beach, but you must have a driver's license to show the security guard at the gate separating the beach from the hotel grounds. The Barefoot Bar makes the best drinks in Waikiki, I believe.

Oahu Revealed says you can use their beach snack bar because of some loophole.
