What hotels would you recommend in Grindelwald?

You might want to post this on the Europe Forum.

You might also check the website for Rick Steves' Europe through the Back Door. We took a tour with Rick some years ago and stayed overnight in Grindelwald...sorry to say I can't remember the name of the hotel, but the host's name was Walter (lot's of help, right?). Anyway, check out Rick's recommendations.

I agree this belongs in the Europe forum but I will answer here. I stayed at the Residence, which is a short walk from the town center. The owner will pick you up from the train station if necessary. Ask for a room with a view of the mountains.

If you want a large hotel with all the trimmings, check out the Hotel Belvedere. It is right in the center and has a great view to the Eiger.

Dear PM,
Would you recommend doing the meal plan at the Residence?

Hi again nankypoo. I did not do the meal plan because I like to explore and try different restaurants. But that's just my opinion, it could be a good deal for some people.
