Buckhead is a very nice area. Lots of upscale restaurants and shopping. There are several nice hotels in that area. I would tell you Swisshotel but I think they got bought out and are under a different name now.

Thanks, GoTravel. I've only stayed there once when it was Swisshotel and a friend was in town. Very nice. Lenox Square Mall is next door and Phipps is up and across the street. If you go to Phipps, Twist is a popular restaurant that I've heard is pretty good. Blue Point and Fogo de Chao are also popular and in that area.

I stayed in the Buckhead area recently and spent the last night at the Grand Hyatt. Had a beautiful room and service was terrific. Lenox Square Mall is across the street and Phipps Mall is up the street.

I believe the Swisshotel is now a Westin. There is a variety of accommodations for every budget in the Buckhead area. Many are listed here: www.buckhead.org

Swissotel is a Westin now and is still very nice. There is also the Ritz Carlton and Grand Hyatt (formerly Hotel Nikko)--all very nice in Buckhead and very well located.
I think Buckhead or Midtown are your best bet. There is a Four Seasons in Midtown which is wonderful.
Like Gotravel said, you might want a car.

Four Seasons is indeed supposed to be fabulous. It is in Midtown, however, which is closer into the city. A nice area for sure but not as much shopping (if that is what you're looking for). Midtown is close to a lot of cool restaurants and the High Museum of Art.

janie, the Ritz-Carlton Buckhead has always been the RCB. The Swisshotel was in a different location.
While the outside doesn't look like much, it is a very nice hotel.
The JW Marriott is almost attached to Lenox Mall.
Your teenage boys may like Dante's Down Under. I know my 49 year old teenage boy loves the restaurant. ESPN Zone also gets rave reviews.
I know foodies will consider these two suggestions no-nos, but I'm thinking of the teenagers. Baccanalia one night for mom and dad OR the Ritz-Carlton Buckhead dining room. One of the best restaurants in Atlanta.

GoTravel, you're right about Bacchanalia for a Mom/Dad night. Very good food and wine.
I was the one who thought you were saying the RCB replaced Swisshotel in your reply. My mistake!
I agree that the boys might enjoy ESPN Zone. Lots of good restaurants in that area as well.
