Good Eats near Garner State Park, Texas

Any suggestions for good casual food in Leaky or Concan after a day of tubing?

Thanks!

One possibility is Mac & Ernie's in Tarpley, west of Bandera -- shouldn't be that far from Leakey. Look at their website at macandernies.com They serve lunch on Wednesdays (11-2) and lunch (11-4:30) and dinner (5-9) on Fridays and Saturdays. No credit cards. There's a map on the website and they've gotten good reviews.

Mac and Earnie's looks like a wild surprise. The menu certainly belies the exterior, doesn't it? I'll have to see how far Tarpley is from the park,

Pepper, the Texas Monthly site requires registration using a code from inside the magazine, so I couldn't get to the restaurant information. Thanks for the suggestion, though. I'll try to get a code and get on.

Well, I like the name of the Horse Pasture Cattle Company, but Neal's Lodge and Cafe gets outstanding reviews -

Sorry 'bout that...it's AUSTIN. It's a great magazine for travel in TX. I also like Texas Highways.

Wow, who could resist Neal's with reviews like that? LOL
Mac and Ernie's is probably about 40 minutes from the park, based on internet maps. We might check it out the next day when we head out to explore Bandera, Medina, and Boerne.
I did get on the Texas Monthly site, Pepper. Thanks.
Now I'm trying to decide on a good restaurant in Fredericksburg. I've been reading lot of reviews but nothing really stands out to me so far. I saw the Hill Top Cafe outside of town, but some of the menu gets pretty pricey and we have a fairly large group.
Any experiences/suggestions to share for Fredericksburg?
