nice restaurant within 1/2 hour of College Park

We will be at U of Md for Family weekend in a few weeks. Looking for good restaurant. DC appears to be the closest, but really dont know the area. Would love seafood restaurant possibly on the water, but think Baltimore area and Annapolis might be too far of a drive?... but then maybe not... Doesnt appear to be much in College Park....
any suggestions appreciated.

Annapolis and Baltimore are both probably closer to an hour away but if you would like some really good seafood in a totally landlocked restaurant then I would recommend Jerry's Seafood in Lanham MD. Truly excellent seafood as most other DC posters would agree.

To reach Jerry's you would need to get back on 95 heading south and go to Rt 450 east stay on 450 for about 2 or 3 blocks and the road will offer the ability to go to Seabrook, take that and go for about 4 to 6 blocks and you'll see Jerry's Seafood in a strip mall on the left. Very fresh fish and seafood and the best crab cakes or crab bombs ever!!

Thanks LN... i did look a the website for Jerry's seafood, but they dont show the restaurant, just the menu. Can't tell what kind of restaurant it is. Wanted a place on the "nicer" side, with a little "atmosphere".
Any other suggestions??
anyone?

one more thing...just realized one in our group is not big on seafood or beef(yikes!) so can anyone include recommendations that might be appropriate.
Again, thanks,

Actually Jerry's IS on the nicer side even though it's in a shopping center. He's been one of the primo seafood restaurants in the area for better than 10 years. Cheap??? No ma'am.

As to U of M's Family weekend possibilities - here's what google shows:

I highly recommend Siri's Chef's Secret on Greenbelt Rd, just by College Park. Doesn't look like much from the outside, but it's an excellent restaurant -- serving both Thai food and seafood/beef. Prices are very reasonable for the qualtiy. Our favorite dessert anywhere is their bread pudding - be sure to ask for it to be served warm -- can't be beat!

Actually I have eaten at some of the restaurants closer to U of Md. If I were to choose a restaurant that offered beef, chicken, vegetarian, and offered primarily American food then I would probably try to get a reservation at the 94th Aerosquadron. If any that are close to College Park it could be one of the better. It's located off Greenbelt Road and should be close enough.

If by chance you'd prefer some food that is tastier then I would probably go to Annapolis for some beef, chicken, seafood or vegetarian. Here in Annapolis we have many good restaurants but then we're not totally inundated by 45,000 college kids as College Park is.
