Georgian Terrace or Renaissance

My family is passing through Atlanta in August for 2 nights. We plan to see a play at the Fox Theatre and also tour CNN Center. Which hotel would be more convenient: the Georgian Terrace or the Renaissance Downtown? They both look close to the Fox Theatre and the MARTA stop but it's hard to tell from the online maps. And is one nicer than the other? We'd get 2 separate rooms at the Renaissance or a 2-bedroom suite at the G.T.

I got married at the beautiful Georgian Terrace. It is directly across the street from the Fox. Their rooms are apartment like and there is a pool on the roof with some great views. Rooms are VERY spacious and the outside of the hotel if beautiful. It is surrounded by fantastic restuarants. The Renaissance is nicer on the inside than it looks on the outside. I haven't been in any of the rooms but it is very nice as well. Of course, further from the Fox.

Go with the Georgia Terrace. You won't want to walk from the Renaissance from the Fox. Not dangerous, just ugly. the Georgai Terrace has gone from hotel to apartments to hotel since I've lived here. Must have large rooms. Try Barronda for dinner across the street.

The Georgian Terrace is where you want to be, no doubt. It's not only right across the street, it's beautiful inside and out. You only have to walk a few blocks to take MARTA to CNN Center.

While you're in that area, be sure to also stop off at Underground and World of Coke. Centennial Olympic Park is fun, too.

Just to make a minor correction to T.M.'s post, the MARTA station is only one block from the GA Terrace.
