Georgetown University Conference Center
Has anyone stayed here that can comment on public transportation in the sights of Washington DC.
I would like to know how long it takes to get from the hotel to the edge of the mall considering any stops and transfers that need to be made. I am also curious how close transportation is to the hotel.

The Pennsylvania Ave buses 30, 32, 34, 35, 36 will take you directly from Wisconsin Ave (6 relatively long blocks from the Georgetown Campus, or about 3/4 of a mile, 15 minutes give or take) to the Mall area. Very frequent service.
The bus trip takes about 20-25 minute, depending on traffic and where you need to get off.

Do you know if there is a convenient shuttle from the hotel to the Wisconsin Ave route? I looks like it is about .5 miles between the hotel and the library. (on google map the lirary was the closest thing I could find for an address) I am asking because we are traveling with 3 kids under 7 and in March. I hope to save the cold outdoor walking for the monuments.

leann, have you considered the suite hotels near the Foggy Bottom Metro stop? There is a Doubletree Suites, Washington Suites Georgetown, and the River Inn. Any one would be more convenient than the Georgetown Conference Center, unless you need to be on the Georgetown campus for some reason.
