Fun, upbeat Lahania restuarant for late dinner

We are looking for a fun, causal place for dinner our first night in Lahania (but not in Hawaii). Someplace to eat a light meal around 9 pm. Sunset view not important as it will be set by then.

Agree with Ranger, Bubba's in Lahaina is good value & fun. One trip we even took McDonald's back to the condo, just needed something to eat after a long journey

I could not in good conscious recommend Bubba Gumps.

If I were taking you out for late night eats in Lahaina, I'd take you to either Cool Cat Café or Lahaina Coolers (serve food till midnight).

We went to Kimo's after dark and it was great. Have a drink on the water before you dine. Very relaxing.

Don't go to Bubba Gump's - it's a boring chain.

hey, here_today, you'd agree, I'm sure, Bubba isn't light fare! But you do get to pull the red sign when you want service. Yes, Coolers would be much better. And what about Lemongrass, if you'd prefer Asian. I don't suppose Scuba Dog is open that late, is it. Maybe that was at Hikei.

... we looooooved Scuba Dog! Laughed all the way to the lava flows below Makena. Here we were, in Maui, .. and eating in a parking lot next to a dive shop. Ah, tell me we weren't in paradise. Aloha!

We have Scuba Dogs, Buss Frogs and Hula Hogs. DH has to always mention them all in the same sentence. lol

Scuba Dogs--> Kihei, and not open late.

Cool Cat, on Front Street. Here is a review for you:

I have never been to Lemongrass, but am willing to sacrifice myself for the betterment of the group and will make it a point to eat there next time I need lunch in Lahaina. The Canoe Festival starts this week and I will be up there either Sat or Sun or both.

I'll be back in late July, and Leomngrass is on my list fo a lunch.

I've reserved at Mamas, Sansei (in Kapalua), Ma'alaea Waterfront and Kula Lodge on the volcano. Doing a business thing with a group at Pacific'O - dined there in April, though it very nice.

So, looking for great places to lunch, if you've any suggestions.

Pa`ia Fish Market! Best hunk of fresh on the island, if you factor in portion and price. Ono-licious. I want an `ahi burger right now!

Kula Lodge is a good choice most people miss. I didn't even think of it when we disucssing sunset views, but, boy, oh, boy, now there's a place to watch sunset!

I'll second Kimo's, part of the Duke's Restaurant chain. Right off the water in Lahaina, breezy lanai area, casual atmosphere, resonably priced food.

SoBe, alas, Lemongrass is no more. Big For Lease sign on the front of the building.
