Ft Lauderdale

Several yrs ago we visited and stayed at a Motel on the Blvd. There were Bistros, resturants, shops, etc just steps away. I can't remember the area's address. Can some1 direct me to this area That has shopping, outdoor dining/music
and decent hotels/condos? With much thanks

The name of the street was probably Las Olas.

If you're thinking of the boulevard that runs along the beachfront, that's Seabreeze Boulevard, which changes names at a fork in the road and becomes North Atlantic Boulevard. It's the A1A highway. That sounds more like the area you are describing than Los Olas Boulevard. Los Olas has the dining, music, shopping, etc, but it is located more towards downtown while A1A is where the little ma and pop motels are located (and the big resorts too), along with outdoor dining, music, beach shopping, etc. We've stayed in some of these little known, inexpensive motels along the beachfront and enjoyed our stay. We felt like we got a lot of ammenities for the inexpensive price we paid, such as a kitchenette where we could prepare light meals and keep some things in the refrigerator.

Thanks for the quick reply! It has been 8-10 YEARS since we've been there I don't remember lasoasblvd, but thanks for that info! It was the blvd that was ocean front and a mom and pop place we stayed. Very clean and reasonably priced! I'm sure most of the mom and pop places have been replaced:{ I guess thats progress.

I just remembered, I think there was a Hooters resturant steps away from where we stayed. After checking Hooters web site, they don't list any on the blvd or ocean front. Am I remembering this correctly?

There is indeed a Hooter's right along the beach on Atlantic Blvd., just a few blocks north of where Las Olas comes out to the beach. I wouldn't be surprised that the motel you stayed in 8 to 10 years ago is long gone, replaced with a newer place. But Hooter's has been there on the beach for a long time.

Oh, and thinking that Hooter's might now be gone, I checked the Hooter's website and it is listed. I'm not sure how you missed it.

You can still find the little ma and pop places. They are still there, not ALL of them, I'm sure, but still plenty. I always found them in a search on Yahoo, Local. Here's the link for motel/hotel where those kinds of places show up.
