Sue, for shopping you don't want to miss Sawgrass Mills outlet mall. The place is HUGE and they have a Wolfgang Pucks Restaurant, Rainforest Cafe, movie theater etc. There are boats that cruise the intercoastal and you can walk the boardwalk on the beach. Do a text search on Ft. Lauderdale and you will find tons of info.

Sue, We spent a week in Fort Lauderdale a couple of years ago and had a wonderful time. We are not into the club scene either. Our hotel was located on A1A so we spent lots of time on the strip along the ocean. There are some great places to eat and a nice little shopping center - I believe it is called beach place. We also walked all the way up Los Olas Blvd. There is great shopping and people watching up that way. Make sure you take the water taxi to see all of the amazingly beautiful homes..... unbelievable... The kids parasailed and went spent lots of time on the beach and at the pool. It was one of our best vacations ever..... very relaxing if you wanted to relax, but plenty to do if you wanted to do something!!! You will have a great time....

Buy a thong.
Get a tattoo.
Dye your hair.
Bleach your hair.
Get a Brazilian bikini wax.
Get a manicure with fake fingernails.
really really long fake fingernails.
Get greasy and lay on the beach all day.
Wear too much expensive perfume/after shave at night.

Hi, I was there last year. There is a really neat place called Butterfly World (I think) just north of Ft. Lauderdale ... and I also recommend an inland waterway tour ... do a search for Ft. Laud tourist websites ... I found tons of info of stuff to do, best restaurants, beaches, etc.
