Fresh Torch Ginger

I would like to buy fresh Torch Ginger when I am in Princeville to tie with a ribbon and carry when I get married. Here in Florida, I can get 3 or 4 stems for $3 each. I hate to pay $75 for what would be called a "Bridal Bouquet". Would this be easy to find by the stem somewhere in Princeville?

There should be a florist at Princeville Resort or at some of the other hotels in the area. Call the hotel and check with them directly. On Maui, we had leis made by the hotel florist for $11 each that were really beautiful and they lasted for days!

A nursery or roadside stand would be even cheaper. I can't picture any at the moment. They are usually near memorial parks.

foodland in Princeville usually has bunches of tropical flowers for $6 each. $3 a stem is what we pay in NYC, cheaper in Hawaii and more plentiful. Are you really going to be popping into a grocery store or road side stand on your wedding day? Call the consirege (sp) at the Princeville. They won't charge you for the question.

I found the farmer's markets had awesome cut flowers also for so cheap! - Here's a link for Kauai. http://realkauai.com/FarmersMarkets/

And since those flowers last so long, maybe you could track some down before the wedding.

I did what the last poster said-I went to the farmers market in Kona the day before our wedding and bought and incredible spray of orchids, tuberose etc.. then did what you said and simply tied them with a ribbon. They lasted so long it was great. Congratulations on your wedding!!!
