Yes, it's actually snowing in Las Vegas as we speak, has been since 9:45 am this morning. I've never seen anything like it in the 12 years we've been here. The roads are slushy!

So far our flight is delayed an hour.

Am leaving now for the airport, have a terrific weekend folks!

PS, Ryan I wish your brother all the best. And warm thoughts to all those with tough situations this week

RANT: It his me as I went to bed on Christmas night, that my little boy, who is now quite the terrific young man, has spent his last Christmas living in his childhood home. I can't believe he will be off on his own in a few short months. I'm just a pathetic puddle.

Rant: This was one of the loooongest weeks I have had in ages - and to top it off, nothing really went right

Rant: My DH has to work the next couple of weekends and then his travel starts up again

Rant: Together, we are a couple of grumpy people - oh what fun!

Rave: The kids are still home and they always bring smiles to our faces -well, almost always

Rave: My new glasses are in. I opted for both distance and a pair of reading glasses - it was that or getting longer arms! I was too chicken to try the progressives.

Mikemo: I'm sorry for your loss.

Ryan: You never quite get over losing a sibling. Your brother, as all others serving our country are in my thoughts.

ed: Congratulations to your granddaughter!

Wishing all others who have had a bad week better days to come.

Have a peaceful weekend, everyone!

Hope everybody's New Year is starting well!

RAVE: Took a two-week, planned *eating* break from my diet! Great fun ...... gained four pounds back, lost two of them already...... Started back on diet Jan. 3........

RANT: Visiting family in mountains, have eaten fried catfish and chicken in last two days! (NOT planned!) That must be IT, no more *splurging* until my Florida vacation the end of this month! Have a lot more pounds to lose before I'm happy......... (at least 30!)

RAVE: Going to Florida for eight nights the end of this month! Believe it or not, I've never been to Florida! Traveling to Ocala and Tampa Bay/Clearwater/St. Pete areas! (Anyone with restaurant recommendations in those areas?)

RANT: Summer weather in North Carolina right now! I hate it this time of year......... screws up Mother Nature!

RAVE: I'm SURE my 90 year-old Mom, who suffers with Alzheimer's, KNEW me today........ what a blessing!

Ryan, your brother is in my thoughts and prayers.

Scarlett, I'm so excited for you........ going to Paris. OO, hope you had a fabulous trip! Happy weekend, all!

Rant: I got my annual head cold early this year.

Rave: I was able to crawl from my bed of misery to book two long weekends at the Jersey shore and use frequent flier miles to book two first class tickets to London for the fall.

It's time for me to stop complaining and start making lists.

bonnieborad, my mother also has Alzhemiers. Except that I do not live close to her so when I see her (once a year now) she does not make the connection btwn. "her daughter" and me. So I know your post and that recognition mean alot.

Rave: Ani's trip to Vegas! Not sure I had a trip like that sans baby at year one, but it sounds great.

Rave: 9 wks til my long-awaited and much planned for trip to Japan w/my 14 yr old son. We are both excited and ready to go after 18 months of planning together, and have so many great things planned. The preseason Japanese baseball game schedule came out this week and was translated onto a website so now we can plan around it.

Rave: the way that travel can bring people and family members together. I recall fondly my 3 trips w/my Mom to Germany (her birth country) to visit relatives in my younger (and her younger) years. I will never forget those trips.

Rant: Big storm is expected to come through Sacramento Valley for the next 3 days.

Rave: Last 2 days we have had a bit of blue sky and not much rain.

Rave: Grandson left for 2 weeks to Europe where his band will have gigs every day.

Rant: Same Grandson left SFO with a terrible head cold.

Rave: 2005 starting out great, every problem various family members have had have been solved.

Rant: Grumpy poster, wish some posters would stop being argumenative.

Rave: All the fabulous posters that add so much to Fodors.

Rant: Not having time to post FFRR til it's officially Sat...and being up w/insomnia to do it!

Rant: Mikemo's news. (Mike, I lost my baby at the end of Oct. when I was 19wks along...best (unsolicited) advise I can give you is just keep telling your DIL and SIL you love them and be ready to listen when she's ready to talk and cry.)

PM--Here's praying that your friend's news isn't as bad as first thought!

Ryan--Many hopes for the safe return of your brother.

Rave: My husband realized that on Thurs. we were married exactly 6mo. and surprised me w/a lovely dinner by candlelight. I was having a bad day and hadn't realized it was our 'anniversary'. He's so incredibly awesome!

Rave: My godkids are each spending a night w/us this w/e. We gave them each holiday presents that allowed us to have separate special times w/my husband and I. Sat. day we'll Build a Bear together with Kristi and Sat. PM we'll take her brother to his first semipro hockey game since there's no pro hockey this year!

Have a good weekend, all! Hope those experiencing bad weather get some sunshine and warm temps soon!

Rant:Worried about my brother too. No insominia (awful)but keep thinking what time is it there. (8-9 hours difference depending where he is). Can't believe people complain about weather or relatives unless they are actually trying to kill/hurt them or property. You often don't know how lucky you are in this world, I guess.

Rave: Open-house winter party tonight at very good friends' house. Tomorrow night all children having a party for me at daughter's for my birthday. Usually get taken out or something else after the Christmas glut and we usually don't do birthdays. I'm totally surprised and honored at the sea change.
