Thanks Tiff, so kind of you to share. I haven't been able to find the decaf here at home, but was lucky to stumble across it in London -- I brought home a few boxes! I'm enjoying a cup at this very moment.

Okay, I've got some rants and raves...

Rave: Just returned from a wonderful vacation with my husband. I'm glad I didn't cancel this trip.

Rave: My house was still standing when I returned. The youngest son stayed out of trouble!

Rave turns to Rant: Had repeat medical tests done upon my return. Ultrasound shows things are "shrinking", but was surprised when my MD told me that I have to have a biopsy done.

Rave: CA-125 still negative. Please, please, please, don't tell me about the "false negatives" -- I know.

Rant: On top of the above, in the early fall, I need to have a surgical procedure done.

Rant: Struggling with whether I should get a second opinion.

Rave: Strong opinions and all, the great people on this board!

Rave: Enjoying writing my trip report, but ya know, it's a lot of "work", lol

Have a safe weekend, everyone!

It has cooled down a bit here. Thankfully.

Running into old friends all week long.

It's Friday! It's the weekend! Tuesday's a holiday and next Monday is another holiday!

Silly government workers who think they know more legal procedure than me! Freaks!

Silly government workers who had to apologise when they realised that they didn't know more legal procedure than me gt;

>< for STW, GoT and all who need them.

STW, wishing you all the best and praying for a positive outcome.

Rant: watching a guy "shower", using the auto-mist that sprays the veggies, in the produce department--ewwwww! Then, when the mist cut off he whined and complained! Thank goodness the escarole I was in search of was in another area!

Rant: The woman who cuts my hair, whose son has leukeumia, miscarried at 13 weeks.

Rant: After buying our tickets to Italy Delta lowered the fare, a week later, on the outbound flight I really wanted. That this is my biggest problem makes me very fortunate.

Rave: No raves, I'm feeling ranty.

Thanks for starting the thread today, GoT!

STW--You are in my thoughts. Stay positive and do what you feel is right.

Rant: Dad had a pacemaker put in last Monday. However, he still is a little short of breath and things seem fuzzy at times when he exerts himself.
Rant: Dr. sent him for more tests yesterdy. VQ scan was negative but he had to wear the 24hr heart monitor again...Uuugghhh! What is wrong with him?
Rant: Mom had a conference to leave for the day after so I'm making sure he's doing everything he needs to be and, of course, worrying like crazy!

Rant: Fiance was just told that by the end of the year there would be more layoffs in his dept.

Rant: I feel like I'm at my breaking point. What more can come our way? With all this on top of planning a wedding I'm not sure how much more I can take! Such bad timing right now. Planning a wedding is supposed to be a happy time.

Not really in the mood for any raves today--just a big bottle of wine!

STW--Yes, definitely go for the 2nd opinion. We were SO glad we did with our son last year!!! 3rd opinions are good too

Rave--Had a great vacation to Sunriver (central OR) last week. Days were filled with hiking, biking, rafting, tennis, putt putt golf, and a spa day tossed in there. Also spent a day down at Crater Lake also. Had not been in years, and DH and kids had never been, so very interesting.

Rant--24/7 with extended family is WAY too much, lol! Note to self...separate houses next year.

Rave--Ran into a guy friend from college there who recognized me. He was a close friend who I have not seen in almost 20 years! Turns out he lives only minutes from our old place near Seattle, and we used to frequent his restaurant. What a small world! I

Rave--DD's driving. I don't feel like I need a whiplash collar anymore

Rant--Up at 4:30am with our Golden who was sick. DH is not helpful with any form of sickness at that hour.

Big Rave--A relative with lung cancer (never smoked a day in his life) who received a grim prognisis in Dec. is basically in remission and all tumors gone!

Good thoughts for you STW.

Rave: Fresh peaches at the Farmer's Market.

Rave: Fresh peaches with homemade vanilla bean ice cream.

Rave: New digital camera was delivered yesterday.

Rant: The dog is sick. I'm glad I'm not the one home cleaning up after her. Thank goodness for hardwood floors!

Rant: Another weekend at home. We were gone five weekends in a row, and I was missing home. But after two weekends at home, I wish we had plans.

Have a good weekend everyone!

I am going to be ranting and raving in more than one spot today

Scarlett
Date: 07/28/2006, 11:57 am
Regarding Mental Illness etc.

Rave: Psychologists and Doctors who do know what they are talking about and help so many people.
Rant: People who think they know what they are talking about and should just be quiet...they do more harm than good. Good example: giving advice online.

Rave:
My friend ( fellow Fodorite) whose husband is quite ill. Every day she sends updates and keeps her spirits up..he is managing, he is kept encouraged too by all the cards and emails. God Bless them, let him get well !

Rave:
P_M is comin to town!!

Rant:
No pupsitter yet.
Rave: it is not so hot here, 70s
Rant: the heat in the rest of the US

Happy Friday

Just back from another two weeks in Coronado, trying to sell the house where I was reaised.

rant: didn't get a buyer.
rave: didn't get a buyer. After camping in the house for so much time, I remembered why my parents loved the house so much! I would lay out in the beautiful patio and read, go bicycling on the bayfront bike path or on the wide streets with picturesque homes, and it was so hot I even went into the cold water at the beach!

I felt like I was on a relaxing vacation, despite it being a working trip!

Now I'm back in Hawaii and it feels like work....

Best wishes to all in Fodorville!

I posted on the R&R thread last night, but my post is toast.

AnneMarie, showering in the mist at the grocery store--interesting!! I wish I had thought of that a couple of years ago when a pipe burst and we had no plumbing for 2 days.

stw, wishing you the best, please keep us posted.

ethel, all the best to your dad.

Scarlett, hoping and praying for your sick friend.

mms and kureiff--hope you pups will get well.

Rave: Leaving tomorrow for Portland with my pal from Ft. Worth!! Hoping Miz Scarlett will make the trip from Tara, her home, to meet us for a girl's happy hour. I can't wait to see Oregon, it's one of the 4 states I've never visited.

Rave: "For Sale" sign in the yard of the neighborhood looney.

Rant: DH stirred up a hornets nest (literally) and got 2 stings.

Rave: He was lucky to escape with only 2 stings. He had no allergic reaction except a swollen arm.

Happy weekend, all!!
