Fort Lauderdale accommodation
Have anyone any experience of Alhambra, Sans Souci or Great Escape hotel in Ft. Lauderdale?
Can any one recommend some other hotels/motels?
We are a family of four looking for a room/suite/efficency with fully equipped kitchen.

I checked the websites for the places you mentioned. If the Alhambra is the "Casa Alhambra" at 3026 Alhambra Street, it appears they only have monthly rentals. Not a bad price for a month, but the rooms look rather basic.
Sans Souci looks really nice and has a daily/weekly rate that is pretty good. It's in a nice area close to many Ft Laud beach activities.
I couldn't get any info off the Great Escape site, so I have no idea what it's like. However, it's address is directly on a the main road and it might be noisy if not well insulated. I'd look at the places GoTravel mentioned, they are much better locations right on the beach.
Laud-by-the-Sea is a nice, quiet area if you want to relax on the beach and stay away from the more touristy locations. However, you'd have to take a cab to to catch the water taxi.
Let me know if I can be of any other help.

I stayed at the Great Escape last year in Feb. and it was okay. It is fairly basic motel style accomodations but clean. They have a web site and I can say that the pictures shown will reflect what you see when you get there. Owner is very nice and helpful. He had extra beach chairs that he allowed us to take to the beach. The place is about 1 1/2 blocks from the ocean. I did not have a problem with any noise although it is on the main drag.

Stay at Blue Seas Courtyard 1 BD Suite on El Mar Drive and you'll feel real comfortable. I was curious when vacationing at Lauderdale by the Sea and saw the place, asked to see a 1 BD and its BIG/HUGE (kitchen, dining room, living room, king size bed, couch pops out to a queen bed I think). All the rooms have alot of space. A family of 6 would not feel cramped in the place. I'm serious.
