The Embassy Suites in Deerfield is very nice and popular with families. There is a small road that actually runs between the hotel and the beach but it is hardly noticable. The pool area is great and overall you will enjoy your stay. Deerfield Beach isn't much as far as sightseeing, etc., but Fort Lauderdale is a short drive away and has much to see and do. The Fort Lauderdale beach is awesome. We routinely drive to Fort Lauderdale for dining when staying at the Embassy Suites because the are more and better choices of restaurants. Fort Lauderdale is actually one of our favorite FL. destinations.

Deerfield Beach has a tiny little tourist area around the beach on A1A. It is not exciting or memorable. The rest of D.B. is middle class housing and stores. There are a few restaurants on the intra costal, one of which is family friendly (the Cove). The beach in DB is nice and there is a fishing pier and a couple breakfast and lunch places right on the ocean. There are other areas in Broward or Dadae county that are nice. Fort Lauderdale has a few nice hotels but most are older and need work. Ft. Lauderdale has much more to do (not that there is so much) but it is a wilder night-life area. If you prefera quieter and prettier area consider Key Biscayne and the Sonesta. It may not be anymore thn the Embassy S and it is more resort/vacation like and a nicer hotel and area. It is only about 45-50 minutes south of D.B
