Ford Center to Navy Pier - distance?
I did a few searches online including looking at Google Maps, but I was hoping someone familiar with the area could help.
I'll be in Chicago for one day with my daughter to see Wicked. We arrive and depart from Navy Pier.
It doesn't look too far on the map from Navy Pier to Ford Center, perhaps about a mile. Does anyone know if that's the case; is it safe to walk from Navy Pier to The Ford Center for Performing Arts, or is it better to catch a taxi?
Thanks!

It is around a mile between the two. If the weather is nice, you can walk. If not, you can catch the Number 29 northbound on State Street in front if Field's/Macy's. It ends its run at Navy Pier.
There are also free trolleys. The Yellow Star trolley runs from the State Street shopping district to Navy Pier. You can catch it on Washington, 1 block south of the Ford Center, between State and Wabash
