For those coming to NYC for the holidays
Here's the status for those planning on coming to NYC for the holidays.
We're having an early winter. Today the high temp will be about 35 - and it looks like it won;t go much above 40 for the next week. (This is 10 to 15 degrees below normal.) So anyone coming for Thanksgiving - bundle up.
Also, today is the first "gridlock alert" day. That is, a day when the traffic is so heavy that it can, at times, come to a complete stop. Walking is usually faster than both a bus or a cab. Subway is the best way to get around.
On the plus side:
With the economy going down the tubes, there are already sales everywhere
The new skating rink at the Museum of Natural History is about to open
Happy holidays!

Here's an official list.

Keep in mind that any especially bad weather weekdays between Thanksgiving and Xmas could informally be added to the list
