Anyone have info on the Pierre in NYC?

So the Pierre is closed for renovations; they are expected to re-open in January. In the meantime, there is no information available on their website. I'm going to NYC at the end of the month; does anyone have any information on afternoon tea and room rates?

Sorry, I am confused by your post.....if they are closed till January, then at the end of this month they will be closed. You must be asking something else that is escaping me.

Re: tea, there was a thread a month (?) ago, or so, that mentioned that the Pierre was not available for tea b/c of being closed for said renovations. Some posters recommended other spots for tea.

I am sure that you did not mean to sound quite so harsh, mclaurie ,,,,,,this is a travel website and someone could possibly be on a mailing list or otherwise have some inside info.....an article may have appeared in the Times....I can think of any number of possible ways that the fodorites in the know may have info that other mere mortals may have missed.

Opening date is undetermined, and they are not even going to begin accepting reservations until January. That is as of now, as always subject to change. The rooms, cafe, and bar are under renovation, though the public rooms and banquet services are open and operating. So, you could have a dinner/reception/meeting there but you couldn't get afternoon tea.Hope this helps.
