Very nice property. Not too big...300 rooms maybe?, quiet, clean, an upscale Marriott property, and by my tastes, approaching elegant. To give you perspective, the Marriott East Side and Grand Hyatt are my favorites in mid-town.

I stayed there last year and was very pleased. My bed was one of the most comfortable I've slept on. The staff were very nice. Rooms aren't huge, as is normal with NYC hotels, and the hotel is on the quiet side. I paid $149 for my room, FYI, and thought it was very good value for money.

I stayed at this Marriott a week after the Sept 11 attacks 2 years ago. In the middle of the nite, I was awakened by what sounded like gunfire...all I could think of was that this was another attack....!! As I looked out my window, I was relieved to see that the "gunfire" was the sound of rain hitting the copper flashing outside of the window....

At any rate, I agree with the above posters... this is a quiet, elegant hotel and I will return if I have business in this area.

I also agree with the above posters. Service was impeccable. The only problem we ran into was that we were charged for drink from the minibar that wasn't consumed, but it was quickly removed from the bill once I brought it to the front desk's attention. I will definitely stay there again.

Six of us stayed several nights at the Marriott Eastside over Thanksgiving weekend, and overall we were quite pleased with the our three rooms and the service. Although I did not dine at the restaurant, one couple had breakfast there and enjoyed it. I used the business center, and the staff was top notch. The only disappointment -- if there was one -- was that the cocktail lounge lacked any ambiance. The second night we went to the lounge at the W hotel across the street, and the third night we went to the Bull & Bear bar at the Waldorf Astoria, also nearby. I would definitely stay there again.

One other note,
If you are a Marquis member, the concierge lounge is sumptuous. Dark panelling, low light. Very relaxing.

My daughter reported to us, after staying there, that this hotel had the most comfortable bed she's ever slept in. After being out 'on the town' before leaving for a new position in Paris, there were comments that if they knew how comfortable the beds were, they would have headed back sooner, for a good night's rest!
