drive from san antonio to schlitterbaun?

How far is Schlitterbaun from San Antonio? Is it a good day trip for a family with 2 teens? Thanks.

About 45min or so. Quite close.

Yes - great day trip. You can also pack a full picnic lunch in a cooler - they'll let you bring it into the park, unlike most places these days.

A little over 30 miles. Depending on the point of departure in San Antonio and traffic maybe an hour's drive (or less). One can also check out rafting on the Comal or Guadalupe Rivers.

LAst year we started in South Padre at "Schlitterbahn-smaller version" and drove to New Braunfels, "Schlitterbahn Awesome".. Took our good old time and stopped in San Antonio for lunch, to see the Alamo, a boat ride, and walk around. Closer to New Braunfels we stopped for touristy stuff, caverns and a drive thru animal safari. While staying at Schlitterbahn we had a special birthday dinner at a restaurant in Greune, TX.

Depending on the teens ages and your budget, you may want to check out the guided Segway tour in SA. Do the tour in the morning when it is cooler.

Thanks for all the great ideas. Tubing, caverns, and the segway tour will definately appeal to my two teenage daughters. We are from NY and this will be our first trip to Texas. Thanks again.

Here's a brief report from a recent trip of mine to SA, Austin, and New Braunfels. (schlitterbahn wasn't open when we went)
