If it's a restaurant with a bar, of course you can sit at a table. Doubt they will let thme sit by the bar.
If your mean a place that's primarily a bar - it depends on the place. If it's more like a club, probably not (they'll card at the door). If it's more adult/upscale they might - but I wouldn;t count on it. (No one wants to take the chance to lose their liquor license.)
Some comedy clubs and music venues have special early shows where you can bring kids.

Thanks for the responses. I guess I was thinking primarily of bars that have live music. I know my boys would enjoy doing something like that, but I noticed the Pianos website said 21+ for all shows.
Any other suggestions?

We took our kids to Smoke to see music a couple of years ago, they were probably 15 & 17. We paid the cover, they drank Cokes or something and there was not a problem. I think it will always depend on the venue. Try looking to see who is playing during the time you are there and then make some calls to places to see what their policy is regarding minors in the company of adults.
