Do most restuarants close in the summer?

Hi, my wife and i are planning on a 5 day stay at The Lodge at Rancho Mirage in July..
I have been told that a lot of the restuarants in the PS PD RM IW area close.
Can anybody give me the scoop...thanks..

Anywhere restaurants might take time off for a short period but there is no mass closing of restaurants in PS during July. Check this website and you'll see things going on in PS http://www.palm-springs.org/ Residents and visitors have to eat.

And I wouldn't suggest referring to Cathedral City as "Cat City" in the presence of any of its residents...;-)
