Anywhere restaurants might take time off for a short period but there is no mass closing of restaurants in PS during July. Check this website and you'll see things going on in PS http://www.palm-springs.org/ Residents and visitors have to eat.

Do people really call Palm Springs PS??? What about people that live there?? What is PD and IW? I live in the midwest and guess I am ignorant to this.

And I wouldn't suggest referring to Cathedral City as "Cat City" in the presence of any of its residents...;-)
