Palm Springs/Rancho Mirage restuarants

We are staying at The Lodge At Rancho Mirage
in July. I have been told that many restuarants close in the summer. Can anybody
give me the scoop...Thanks

I give up. Why two posts on the same subject?

You must have too much time on your hands, either answer the post or don't !! We don't need you to wonder about how many posts a person puts here...on the same subject.

While some restaurants still close down during the summer heat (the electric bills just don't justify staying open for), now that there is more of a year round population, there are far more year round restaurants. You won't have difficulty finding a place to eat.

There's a new entertainment center called "The River" that opened in Rancho Mirage. There's a movie theater, Borders bookstore and a variety of restaurants, including PF Changs, Prego's (I wouldn't recommend it), Babe's BBQ, among others. I was just out there over the weekend and had dinner with my aunt and uncle at the new Mexican restaurant. Despite the heat, the place was packed. These chain restaurants won't close down during the summer months.

There's also a Roy's restaurant located across the street. Kobe's is also located in the Ranco Mirage area and is a popular Japanese restaurant.

While I don't know if they stay open for the summer, Shame on the Moon, is a nice non-chain restaurant in that area.

I can think of only a handful of restaurants that close for the summer anymore. Many are open for most of the summer but close for a month, usually in the latter half, like from mid-August to mid-September. You won't have any problem whatsoever finding plenty of great places to eat, with probably no waiting.

i live in rancho, Las Casuelas Terraza (tourist style mexican;is definetly open, nice atmosphere) is right down the hwy from the lodge, as is Kobe
(japanese; not sure if open), the lodge has a terrible menu, but dont worry their coincerge can make reservations virtually anywhere that is open. the new prego's is very disappointing, and dont forget to try the casino restaurants( if you are over 21). remember, rancho mirageis just minutes from P.S and P.D. hope this helps.
