need dinner ideas for group of 30 Peace Corps is 50 this year,and im travelling to DC for a re-union with my friends from Bulgaria.Therell be 30 of us--not familar with prices in DC area so cant give a budget, but mid -price point would be good, i hope--but if i could get some suggestions on places that would work that would help ;;
--- we're staying at the Residence Inn Marriott--not that nearness to hotel would really matter.In a perfect world, itd be a Bulgarian restaurant, but there arent many of those.The meeting will be in Sept--thanks much for any help

Am not local so can;t give specific recos. But, most places = for 30 people - will ask you to pick a set menu and make a substantial advance deposit. And there is no way they are dong separate checks - so someone needs to organize the finances. Also you should discuss drinks in advance - since those who don't won't want to pay for those who are having 3.

You might try searching for information through OpenTable. Not all DC restaurants are listed, but many are and you can get information about price ranges and cuisine, reviews, links to restaurant web-pages, etc. for restaurants that have private dining options.

Note that W Domku restaurant is owned by a former Peace Corps volunteer, so that sounds like a good place and the restaurant should really be receptive.

There used to be a good Bulgarian restaurant in Arlington, but I don't think it's open any more, not sure (Bistro Bulgari). W Domku is more central, in a way, but I'm not sure they are big enough to handle your group, but it's worth a check http://www.domkucafe.com/Welcome.html The website says they handle large group events.

We just got back from a stay at Residence Inn Marriot in DC, there is pretty much NOTHING near the hotel at all. Metro is close by though.
