July 4 - In DC last minute - need restaurant ideas....

I am joining DH and 11 year old son in DC for July 4th ..very last minute. He will be doing the obvious tourist things but no dining ideas for the three of us on the 3rd and 4th.... We are staying a block off Pennsylvania.. Any fun diners or trendy new restaurants - our son eats anything!!!

After that we are heading to williamsburg for a day ro two. Any tips for that trip is also appreciated!

DC is not a town with diners. As for restaurants, this is a well trod topic. But restaurants and DC in the search and your will find hundreds of threads.

Where on Pennsylvania Ave are you staying? It runs from Gtown to the Maryland border, so it would help if you narrowed it down for better options.

We are staying one block from the Whitehouse - Do not know know which hotel... albeit a very nice one....

I have not done a search, really dont have time to sift through many threads on the topic of restaurants....I just thought if a "must-do" fun restaurant popped into someone's head I would be thrilled!

Thanks!!

Oyamel, http://www.oyamel.com/press.htm
Cafe Atlantico http://www.cafeatlantico.com/
and Pizza Paradiso for great pizza and sandwiches
