Dinner and breakfast in El Segundo
Returning from a trip to Europe,
I will be spending one night in El Segundo at the Marriott Courtyard. Where are good casual nearby places for dinner that night and breakfast the next morning. I will have a car but don't want to travel too far.

In downtown El Segundo, The Second City Bistro is a good, casual restaurant, with a great menu. www.secondcitybistro.com
Rosecrans Ave. in Manhattan Beach/El Segundo has an abundance of restaurants to choose from. Flemings Steakhouse, Daily Grill, Cozymels (Mexican), Houstons, P.F. Changs. Our favorite, though, is Lido www.lidodimanhattan.com
For breakfast, I like the Beach Hut (Hawaiian style) or the Local Yolk on Highland in Manhattan Beach.

Downtown El Segundo has lots of nice little restaurants.
Next door to Second City Grill is Deluca's Trattoria, owned by Chef Hannes, also the name of his other restaurant in town. We also like Farmstand, & Original Rinaldi's.
For breakfast, we like Good Stuff in the downtown area, and there is even an International House of Pancakes on Sepulveda Blvd.

lvk-I was in Redondo the other day and drove my DD to LAX. We went by the shopping center where the Whole Foods is located. My DD went on and on about the food court there. Said she and her roommate went into the store and stayed there for the longest time just trying to decide what to eat. Next time I am in that area I will have to check it out.

mscarls, Yes, the food court has seating. It is frequented by the people working in all of the office buildings near where your hotel is located.
Paula, Good Luck. I've been trying to stop in there since they opened, but it seems that everytime I'm in the area (even in the same shopping center), I'm in a hurry to get some place else.
MBNancy, We finally got to Second City Bistro last weekend and really enjoyed it. I've heard good things about Farmstand too.

Well maybe we should have a Fodorites South Bay GTG (I am honorary since my DD lives there)at the Whole Foods food court!
Seriouly, it would be fun to do that sometime. Lunch is always better for me but I can stay for dinner also. That way I miss the traffic home to North San Diego County. Or I could just spend the night in LA area.
