delray marriott or renaissance boca raton
looking for a nice hotel in the west palm, boca area. don't care if it's on the beach or not. would be nice to be in walking dist. of restaurants and clubs which i know the delray is located near such. looking at the renaissance because it looks good on the internet and i can get a room for $20 cheaper

Dixie, depends on your age & interests. The Renaissance is notreally near the water but very close to the Town Center Shopping Mall with Saks, Lord & Taylor, Bloomingdales etc. There's also a section of the mall with some good restaurants but the good ones are expensive. Can't recall any clubs though. While you could walk, I'm not sure it's a destination where people do walk.
Delray is IMO younger and people DO walk along Atlantic Blvd. Lots of restaurants to choose from at all prices. The downside is if you're into shopping you really have to drive. The shops along Atlantic are mostly touristy/gifty places.

I've stayed at the Renaissance a few times, the last time the room wasn't the greatest, but the pool and pool bar are great, and you can get pretty cheap rate right now, 71.00 I got last week. If you like Boca, try the Radisson Suites, nice place, rates include cooked to order breakfast, omelets bar, pancakes-you name it, they make it for free! All rooms are suite types, with a separate living room area. Maybe do a day trip to Delray, rather than stay there, I think the Marriott is the only real hotel there.

Have fun.
