Chicago: Take or buy when I get there??

My husband and I are going to Chicago on business for 4-5 days. We had planned on just carry-ons but now I am wondering what to do about tolitries and vitamins. We take lots of vitamins and in the past have just taken what we needed in one container. Will we be able to do that ? To buy what we use when we get there will be very expensive.

Then I have the tolitries question. Do the cosmetics have to fit in the ziplock bag? I will take only the essentials but i don't think it'll fit. Also are you allowed to take an electric razor? My husband needs one for his beard!

We usually travel for pleasure so we pack light but being business we need to have it!

Are vitamins in the form of pills? There is no limit on taking those.

I wouldn't even worry about capsules with liquid center - just take them!

Now, if any vitamins are liquids the shouldn't be over 3 oz and must fit into one clear ziplock.

Non-liquid cosmetics like compact, lipstick - put in your purse or carry-on. No problem.

The rest: mascara, lotion, shampoo, all liquids must be not more then 3 oz each and fit in one ziplock per person.

Electric razor, sure, why not? And any electric toys you want

Only liquids are limited.

It's not just one ziplock per person, it's one QUART-size ziplock per person.

I've travelled for as long as a week with just a carry-on and haven't had any trouble fitting all my liquid toiletries in the 1 quart bag, but maybe I don't take much.

Foundation is often in bottles of about one oz, mascara is tiny, travel toothpaste is less than an ounce, shaving cream 2.25 oz, and I'm willing to use the hotel shampoo, conditioner, and lotion.
