cape cod rental house

I'm starting to plan a family vacation for next summer on Cape Cod. For 8 or more of us, I was thinking that a rental house would be best. Any suggestions of locations or actual houses would be greatly appreciated. Are there resorts that you think would be as good or better than a house?
Thanks from the midwest.

try capecodrental.com Otherwise, go to google and do a search. My siblings go every year - always a house - with their kids and love it. No resorts that I'm familiar with - sorry. Good luck.

Brady, What part of the Cape do they go with their kids? Choosing an area for kids, parents and grandparents would be great...better than driving around the Cape.
Thanks.

There are several resorts on the Cape that have cottages for rent where you get the best of both worlds. You have all the amenities of the resort plus your own private accommodation to cook, eat, play and sleep in.

Here are a few to start with: Chatham Bars Inn, Red Jacket Beach Resort, Wequassett Inn and Ocean Edge Resort.

Gene,
Thanks...I've looked at them online, and three of them are possibilities. The first three look wonderful! I do like the idea of the optional resort amenities in addition to the privacy of the cottages. Thanks again.

Another item to consider is the children both from a beach perspective and "things to do" perspective. The beaches on the sound on the outer Cape are usually a long steep walk down and the water can be rough....a bit dangerous for small children. The Bay is safer. Also, the outer Cape from about Harwich on out does not offer a lot for childrens activities. (Harwich does along route 28). you might try the Dennis area, it's on the touristy side, but for a first timer it is safe. Be sure to plan a day trip to The National Seashore and perhaps a whale watch from Provincetown.
