Cape Cod with Kids

We're two families with four colletive kids, looking to vacation on Cape Code this summer for a week. We'd love to either rent a house or stay somewhere with a kitchen, etc. Preferably with pool, but this isn't a must. Any suggestions?

A few questions:
What is your budget?
How old are the kids?
What types of things do you like to do? e.g. stay on the beach all day or not.

For many years between the early 1990's to about 2002 my family rented a house on Cape Cod each summer with my husband's extended family.

We rented a house in the Falmouth Heights Beach area. We were a 2-5 min walk from the beach and the ferry to Martha's Vineyard (great place for a day trip). There are great bike paths in the Falmouth area and a wonderful playground/park in Falmouth. My kids also enjoyed the aqarium in Wood's Hole.

We all found the location to be ideal with access to lots of things to do. All three generations of our family have wonderul memories of our summers spent on Cape Cod.

There are so many towns, all with different amenities on the Cape, it is difficult to know what your families would like best.
We loved the
Outer Cape when our children were growing up. In fact, they had summer jobs here, and both were married on the Cape, though we lived "over the bridge" at the time.
Beautiful ocean side beaches, in the National Seashore. Towns, all very family oriented, with square dances on the pier in Wellfleet, band concerts on the Windmill Green in Eastham, bay exploring at low tide, hiking Great Island and Biking the bike trail- the old railroad.
My suggestion is to go to New England.com. Put in Outer Cape, Mid- Cape, etc. in the search box, and decide what appeals to you.
Their are two websites, "We Need a Vacation.com", and Cbyer Rentals.com, which will have many properties rented by the owners, with number of people allowed in the rental, all amenities listed,by town. You won't find too many rentals with pools, unless you rent from a complex such as Odcean Edge, in Brewster, which has a pool with the complex. You will find, with so many fresh water or kettle ponds, as well as bay and backshore, one doesn't use a pool frequently.
Good luck.If it would help, click on my name, and it will come up with many posts from the susmmer about Cape Cod, and it's various villages.
